TWOHANA is a Western-Korean fusion café concept by Seoul Garden Group, which was launched in 2018. Drawing on the Eastern concept of eum-yang where harmony is achieved when opposites come together to balance each one out, the brand identity we developed re-imagines a utopian world where the East and West co-exist together in perfect harmony.
This is subtly expressed in the use of binaries, such as light and dark in the colour scheme, thick and thin strokes in the logo design, custom type design and secondary graphics, as well as the use of contrasting material palette in the interior to achieve a balanced visual harmony. All these contrary visual elements are eventually brought together into a harmonious whole, presenting a vision of how two seemingly different cultures can come together to create something new and unique.
