Raison Wines


Raison is French for “reason”, and a pun on the word “raisin” which is French for “grape”. Hence, “reasonable grapes*” is Raison Wines’s—an independent French wine importer—commitment to provide quality wine at a reasonable price.

With the motive to elevate our daily experiences by weaving wine into the experience, the brand’s supporting graphics are created to tell a story though illustrated scenes where an atmosphere and mood is created—personal, recreational and corporate social settings—in which wine can be enjoyed in.

The merging of wine and lifestyle is shown in the illustration which mixes both patterns and solids which occasionally overlap as well. This convergence of two separate elements are woven to create a complete scene. This duality is also presented through the combination of two contrasting colours.

Through the use of lines to form precise and fine details in the patterns and shapes, a systematic and refined visual that translates quality and elegance is created while still having an element of fun. 


* Raison Wines is founded by two lawyers—reasonableness is a concept that haunts successive legal generations.
